Friday Post: The Last Place You Look

Another Friday is here!  Bring on the Weekend!

Book Beginnings on Fridays

Book Beginnings on Fridays is a meme hosted at Rose City Reader where you share the first sentence (or so) of the book you are reading, along with your initial thoughts about the sentence, impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires. Please remember to include the title of the book and the author’s name.

The Last Place You Look by Kristen Lepionka

I just picked this up at the library tonight and plan to start it in the next couple of days.  I found it on one of the blogs I follow, but I can’t remember whose blog it is!  Sorry!

Here’s the Book Beginning:

“Matt said you found things.  For a living,” the woman said on the phone.

I was lying on the carpet underneath my desk.  I’d only answered the call to make the shrill ringing stop.  The inside of my mouth tasted like whipped cream and whiskey, and the sound of my breathing was like a roaring thunderstorm in my head, but at least I was alone and in my own apartment. “That’s right,” I said.

“What kind of things?” Her tone was suspicious, like her main objective was to debunk whatever my oldest brother told her.

“Objects.  People. Answers. Whatever needs to be found.”

“You good at it?”

I hadn’t worked much in the last nine months and didn’t want to start now. But my bank balance had other ideas.

The Friday 56

The Friday 56 is a meme hosted at Freda’s voice.

Rules:
*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader
(If you have to improvise, that’s ok.)
*Find any sentence, (or few, just don’t spoil it)
*Post it.
*Add your (url) post below in Linky. Add the post url, not your blog url.
*It’s that simple.

Here’s a blurb from page 56:

In the light of day, I could see that whoever had gotten into my car last night must have used a slim jim or a coat hanger.  The weather stripping at the bottom of the window was ripped and the blue paint on my door was faintly scratched.  Better than a brick through the glass, but it still pissed me off.

On top of that, I didn’t quite know what my next move should be on Brad Stockton. So far there were three votes for Brad Stockton’s innocence, two maybes on the unnamed dog owner, on strange encounter with the Belmont cops, but zero corroboration for Danielle’s claim that the woman she saw was Sarah.

What do you think?

Here’s the blurb from Goodreads:

Sarah Cook, a beautiful blonde teenager disappeared fifteen years ago, the same night her parents were brutally murdered in their suburban Ohio home. Her boyfriend Brad Stockton – black and from the wrong side of the tracks – was convicted of the murders and sits on death row, though he always maintained his innocence. With his execution only weeks away, his devoted sister, insisting she has spotted Sarah at a local gas station, hires PI Roxane Weary to look again at the case.

Reeling from the recent death of her cop father, Roxane finds herself drawn to the story of Sarah’s vanishing act, especially when she thinks she’s linked Sarah’s disappearance to one of her father’s unsolved murder cases involving another teen girl. Despite her self-destructive tendencies, Roxane starts to hope that maybe she can save Brad’s life and her own.

With echoes of Sue Grafton, Dennis Lehane and the hit podcast Serial, The Last Place You Look is the gripping debut of both a bold new voice and character.

Sounds good, doesn’t it?  I’m excited to start this one!  Have you read it?  What are you reading now?

    1. Uh…you are totally right! lol I actually went to the book and checked and it does say ‘find’. Don’t mind me…clerical error, my bad! Thanks for pointing it out! 🙂

  1. 99% of the time I can’t remember where I saw a book. I really wish I could! I haven’t heard of this one but it sounds really good. Hope you’re enjoying it!

  2. I read this in June! It’s really good It’s more like your old fashioned detective novel than anything, but done fantastically!! The last 30% of the book is the really thrilling/action part. The rest is good old detective work and Roxanne is now one of my favorite new characters. She’s imperfect, but smart, no nonsense, and dedicated.I love it’s a new series ❤ I think you’ll enjoy this so much! I haven’t written a review for this yet…on my to do list, but I hope to have one when I get back from hiatus or after.

        1. Doesn’t seem to be, hmmmm….

Hey! Are you leaving for the mountains today? We’ve decided to go camping for the weekend. It’s only 30 mins away but good to ‘get away’ 🙂

          1. I didn’t think it was. I know I first saw the book back in June when Chelsea did a review on The Suspense is Thrilling Me as a buddy read with Annie over at The Misstery. After I read both their reviews, I went out and bought the book, lol. Here is the link to Chelsea’s review since I was just catching up on her blog: https://thesuspenseisthrillingme.com/2017/06/12/review-the-last-place-you-look/

I don’t know if that helps a lot! I know the book was floating around a lot in June. Renee did a great review of it too at Its Book Talk in June that also pushed me to buy it 🙂

Yes! My cousin is on his way to get us. It’s almost a 4 hr 30 min drive, and that long of a drive will be uncomfortable enough for me as a passenger but if I was driving, it would just kill my shoulder, neck, back, and hips. He should be here by 2:30, so I’m just waiting 🙂 And all excited!!!

Oh, have fun camping! I’ve never been and doubt I ever will, but have fun, lol!! Getting away is always great whenever and however you can 🙂 And I know you need the break. I know I do. I’m soooo burnout. But I still will get to your email! I spent 6 hrs on my book review yesterday…omg! So, do not ever feel bad about taking a long time to write, lol. 😉

          2. OMG 6 hours! You must have been exhausted! I have your posts up in open tabs on my laptop lol I do that so I don’t forget to go back and read them when I have time 🙂

I hope the drive goes by quickly and easily! That’s a looong time sitting in a car.

I might have seen the review through Renee’s blog…I’ll have to check that out 🙂 I don’t think I follow Chelsea…Just followed her now 🙂

Gotta get some more packing done. We’re supposed to be all ready to go when hubby gets off work and here I am doing bloggy stuff 😉

I’m sure we’ll be touching base over the weekend…Chat soon!

          3. Oh, I was! I thought my shoulder was going to fall off. I had to take a break since I hadn’t eaten all day to eat and recover my thoughts. There was so much I wanted to say but it was all over the place. I just wanted to get the review…right, you know? Karin Slaughter is probably my favorite author in the crime fiction genre and I wanted to make it just so. Plus, The Good Daughter is now my favorite book of the year!! Omg, it was stunning!! I wept and laughed and still feel the emotions of the book. I just had to get my review right to say all I felt. I definitely recommend it!

We’re on our way now!! ❤❤ It’s a long drive, but I have good company with Kayley and my cousin. They’re both entertaining lol. My cousin has been my best friend since I was a kid He’s 4 yrs older than me but was always my playmate…we used to get in so much trouble, lol. We tried to have a seance in my granddaddy’s church once…my cousin’s fault since I was only 8!! I got a spanking, omg!! But it’s funny now

Chelsea’s blog is amazing. So glad you’re following it❤

Have fun packing and camping! Talk to you soon

          4. Oh, Stephanie! I know what it’s like when you love something and you want to do it justice! I’ve never heard of Karin Slaughter, I’ll have to keep her in mind, for sure! The Good Daughter, as well!

I hope you have an amazing and fun trip! Relaxing, too 🙂 That’s so nice that you and your cousin are so close 🙂 A seance in your grandaddy’s church! OMG! LOL That’s hilarious! I can see the two of you now!

It’s so nice and quiet here at the campground I love it. I’ve gotten lots of writing in, which feels great. It’s raining now, so Burger and I are just chillin’ in the trailer. The boys went home to pick up a few things we forgot. It’s nice that we’re close enough to do that.

Talk to you soon! <3 🙂

          5. Sorry!! I’ve been on a forced relaxation for a couple days and promised my hubby I wouldn’t be blog obsessed while gone !! I even left my laptop at home to avoid the temptation to write reviews!

Yes, I’m such a perfectionist that I freak out if things aren’t right, especially something I’m writing, which is why it takes 300 hrs!!

You must read Karin Slaughter! She’s fabulous! I love her! If you like series, start with her Grant County series first since one of the characters from that series shows up in her Will Trent series! Otherwise, you’ll get confused! I started Blindsighted, book 1 in Grant County…there are 6 books…was blown away and had all 6 books read in 4 days and the Will Trent series finished by the next week! I’ve never read a series that fast or intensely!! And definitely The Good Daughter! So good!

I’ve definitely been relaxing! We all went for pedicures, lol. It was hysterical. My husband would never get a pedi And my cousin and his partner keep cooking these gourmet dinners and outrageous desserts! I’m never going home! They can adopt me.

Oh, we got in so much trouble when we were younger!! That seance was a hoot! I didn’t really know what we were doing, lol. We did dumb stuff all the time. It’s a wonder we didn’t end up in the hospital now that I think about it…using tires to slide down huge gravel hills, which ended up with us both having skinned knees and heads, lol. I still have a scar on my left knee! Omg!! We were so bad!! I blame him totally since he’s older!

I’m so glad it sounds like you had an amazing and relaxing time camping! You needed it!! ❤❤ I hope it helped you feel better. And I still need to email you! I haven’t forgotten Have a great week! I’ll be checking in on and off! ❤❤❤

          6. Oh my gosh, don’t ever be sorry for taking time to relax! You NEED that! lol

I will definitely have to check out that series…I’ve been finding sooooo many amazing books lately! Yikes! Don’t know what to read next! lol

Pedicures! That’s awesome and so much fun! Did your daughter go too? She must have LOVED that if she did! That’s great you are enjoying yourself so much…You needed that!

Haha! I love that you had so much fun with your cousin growing up…too funny! I used to do crazy things like that when I was a kid, too and I look at my own kids and think how protected they are from everything. I think sometimes I’m doing them a great disservice by bubble wrapping them. They miss out on so many great experiences.

Sitting in my outdoor office on the back deck next to the pool…time to get some writing in! Chat soon! (((HUGS!!!)))

          7. I’m not going to apologize this time lol but I did mean answer you sooner I hope you got some writing in!! I need an outdoor office…it sounds better than just sitting beside the pool and probably more productive

The pedicures were amazing! Oh yes, Kayley came for pedicures too! She loves pedicures as long as the polish is pink or purple and maybe glittery, lol!! We’ve been getting them together since she was 3…I love my boys but having a girl is so much more fun at times ❤

I think that too that our kids are missing out on the fun we had as a kid! My oldest had a bit freer childhood, but he’s about to be 19. But gosh, I don’t think I really let Kayley do anything without me! She and friends her age always have parents up their rear end. We never had play dates, lol. We just played whenever we wanted to and all the parents watched out for us. And I was really sheltered too but still had freedom. It’s such a different world today!! So sad…

I’ve got 3 vacation days left, boo! Then start back to work on the 17th AND classes the same day I’m more ready for back to work than classes since this is my 16th year, and it’s pretty much in my blood now I love the interaction with the kids and how they interpret all the texts and books I give them! It’s fun to see how differently they analyze everything…almost how every blogger reviews and interprets a new book I’m just ready to be done with school. I think the 300 pg thesis is daunting me, lol. Oh, and you asked what it’s about!! I don’t have a title yet but it’s analyzing and theorizing American and Southern Gothic Literature from the Dark Romantic period to modern day with authors likePoe, Hawthorne, and Melville to Henry James, William Faulkner, Flannery O’Conner, J.D. Salinger, Henry James, Eudora Welty, Sylvia Plath, Toni Morrison, Anne Rice, Stephen King and others. It’s a lot of research, which I love ❤❤ And reading ❤❤ The writing will be the bane of my existence for the next 9 months…this will be the 4th baby I birth, lol!!

Hope you are well!! We are off for an early dinner and to see some sites in Asheville ❤ Chat soon!!

          8. Hello lovely lady! I have been getting some productive writing in! Yay!

Not much done on the blog but I did do an award today. I figured it would only take an hour, but it was 3 hours lol

The 17th…Yikes, that’s creeping up! Sorry! At least teaching isn’t too big of a hurdle for you! You know your stuff, I have no doubt about that!

I know that once you start digging your teeth into that thesis you will fly through it! Easy peasy, right? Just think of it as doing awards and tags and you’ll be good 😉

On a more serious note, it sounds incredibly interesting learning and researching these amazing authors.

            Talk to you soon!

          9. Hello lovely!! 🙂 I’ve so missed you! I head home today, but I wish I could vacation forever even though I miss hubby and the boys terribly. I just need a few more weeks of peace…oh well….

So glad you’ve got some writing done!! That is fantastic! I can’t wait to read what you’ve written!! 🙂 And buy your book one day! Maybe one day I’ll get off my tush and write my dream book(s)…it would take me a century with my writer’s block to complete even though I know the story I want to write. The blog will happen when it happens; that is my new philosophy although I’m going to probably do a blog post later today, a quick one, since it’s been over 10 days and I miss my blog 🙁 Top 10 Tues is back with new themes so I can do that in a couple of hours (sad that is what I call a quick post), lol!! All my blogging takes a couple of hours…or 6-8 hahaha!! I had to laugh at your award taking 3 hours since ALL my awards and tags take at least 2-5 hrs to write! I love them but get frustrated that I think they will be quick to write and then hours later I’m still doing them! It’s looking for people to tag that takes me gazillion hours!! Ugh!! I’m just going to tag all my followers from now on and shave hours off my time, ha!

My God, the 17th is in 2 days. Save me! I’m not worried about the teaching part although I always have a bunch of whiny, spoiled students in the beginning who want me to do their work, give them extra credit, and basically wipe their bottoms so they can pass. I’ll have to weed them out in the beginning from the ones who want to learn so things will go smoothly. I’m not putting up with 16 weeks of crap. I have too many other things to do than deal with babies.

I do love research!! I could research all day. That part of my thesis I will enjoy so much!! And I’ve taught about most of these authors and their work for years, so I have the advantage with that. But the writing, omg. I cry when writing a 10 page essay, lol. No joke. Not because I can’t but because I want it perfect since I’m terrified for some strange reason of losing my 4.0 GPA; you know because if I do the sky will fall or something but it’s stuck in my head I have to have all A’s or I’m doomed. Silly since I would never expect that from my kids.

And I have a severe editing problem when I write. I can’t write a paragraph without editing it and rewriting it and then re-editing it, lol. It takes me days to get through one draft page because I edit the damn thing instead of just writing it! And I know that is my biggest downfall, and I would yell (not really) at a student for doing that and tell them just write the draft completely then go back and edit but I have some block that makes me edit first because I want a perfect draft. I do that when I blog too, lol. If an award takes me 3 hrs, I can’t imagine how long 300 pages will take to write! I’ll have to just write. Crazy. I’m a demented writer, 🙂

            Talk to you later!!

          10. I’ve missed you too! I’m so glad that you had such a fun and relaxing getaway. You really needed it! Have a safe trip back today.

I can totally see you writing your dream book someday. It wouldn’t hurt to write down what you can. Start with a rough outline, add details as you think of them, maybe some dialogue. It will get you started even if its in pieces all over the place. That way when you’re ready, you will have something to work with. I know from experience, I’ve had story ideas in my head for years, but planning in my head doesn’t play out on paper quite the same way. It’s weird, I know! lol

You’re right about finding people to tag, that’s what took the most time for me yesterday, honestly! At the same time, I hate taking the easy route and tagging everyone 😉

I near spit my water out from laughing at your whiny, spoiled students! OMG You’re too funny!

Your perfectionism has gotten you where you are, so that is a good thing! It’s too bad that it can stress you out, though…there has to be a balance somewhere, I think.

I tend to work the same way, I edit a lot as I go. It feels like my first chapters aren’t finished until I go back and clean them up. I’ve gotten to about the 3rd or 4th chapter (I might cut one out) and now I’m re-editing them to get the cheese out and make them sound believable. It seems to be working because I realize as I get further along, I need to mention certain facts earlier, so I go back, add the facts, then rework the wording.

          11. It really was relaxing but it was surprising how busy a relaxing vacation was! LOL! But you are so right that I really did need it, but I am glad to be home I really did miss hubby and the boys. More than anything though I really need to time with Kayley before we headed back to school, so she has such severe separation anxiety and she is really dreading starting second grade. I’ve spent most of the morning talking to her guidance counselor and her principal just trying to set a transition plan in place to help her get through the first week since she’s really nervous, she has diagnosed generalized anxiety disorder just like her mom, poor thing, but at least she has it diagnosed young because even though I had it at age 5, I didn’t have it diagnosed until I was older and didn’t get the help I needed. But she starts off the school year or at least she did kindergarten and first grade crying the first couple of days because all she wants is me- she is pretty much attached at my hip, and we don’t know how to fix that even though we’ve gone to counselors and other stuff. Her guidance counselor says that she will just grow out of it and and to just let her just become more independent and gain more self-confidence so this point that’s pretty much what I’m going to do, especially since I know what it’s like to have really bad anxiety disorder and to be her as a kid. It really frustrates my husband, but he doesn’t have anxiety and he doesn’t know what it’s like to live with anxiety, and I don’t know how to explain it to him so he’s just going to have to deal with it.

You are too sweet! I have been talking about writing my dream book since I was like 15 and I have a notebook somewhere and with some scribblings in it if I could find it of things that I have wanted to write- anything based off of what it was like to live with my bipolar crazy mother and all that emotional and mental abuse garbage that I went through, or I’ve always thought of writing some kind of crazy psychological thriller or historical fiction! But I had to laugh when you wrote about making a rough outline because I cannot make outlines. And here I teach English and I’m like ,oh make your outline then your draft, then write your paper! But then when I’m taking classes and go to write an essay I can’t make an outline, lol. I’ve never been able to write from an outline. And it’s funny, I had one professor who said screw an outline because some people just cannot write from one because it’s so confining, and I think that’s how I feel, which is funny because I’m so linear and I’m such a perfectionist you would think that I would have to have a one. So I’m not sure what the deal is. I think I have to see the words as paragraphs to feel like I’m actually making progress in writing something. I told you that I was a crazy writer.

But I totally get that what you said about planning the writing in your head is not like putting it on paper. I will be asleep, trying to go to sleep and writing essays in my head and think that sounds great! Then the next day I’ll get in front of my laptop and try to put it down on paper and completely have lost all my thoughts, and I get so frustrated because I’ll sit there for a couple of hours and try to remember what in the world it was that I was writing in my head that sounded so fantastic at 3 in the morning, and I just want to smack myself because I either should have gotten up instead of trying to keep falling asleep when I never did or got a tape recorder and recorded my thoughts, which actually sounds like a good idea! I might try that this semester to see if that makes my writing go smoother. Maybe I can get my thesis written faster this way because 300 pages is a small book! Not even a small book it’s an average size book!

I wonder if we’re the only people who has that much trouble finding people to tag. No, that’s not true other people have mentioned that to me as well. My problem is I don’t want to tag the same people over over or tag people that I have seen who just got in that same award so I go through every single one of my followers which takes what seems like hours because I’m scrolling through their blog. I don’t want to take the easy way out and tagged everyone either but I’ve got to find some way to save time I’m not sure what the right answer is with this one but it seems insane to take to 3 hours or more to do an award or a tag. Though it could be because we’re doing multiple tags at once 30 questions it’s a lot. I think I might do what I saw somebody else do on their blog: instead of answering all 10 questions from each person was pick 3 – 5 questions from each person and do it that way when having multiple nominations.

I’m sorry that I almost made you spit your water out! But the students get worse and worse every year! I swear they think they’re entitled to everything. It’s just the way that our society has started to become. Every year it just makes me sadder and a little bit angry too to think about it since this is our next generation. At least I can say that I’m not feeding into their entitlement and that I know that I have not raised my 3 kids that way, so that’s something. But wow, you would have to see some of these kids, and not even kids actually! Some of my students are in their thirties! Some of them are older than I am!

The way you edit sounds like a good way to edit a book! I would probably do the same way! My editing though is out of control. I mean I will write a sentence and then I go back and edit it, lol. I think I’ve gotten better though. One of my colleagues has generalized anxiety disorder too and he and I will talk about the writing process and of course teaching and things like that, and he will actually laugh at me and he’s just like just let it go just stop focusing on it…he has way better control of his anxiety than I do, lol. he gave me the best piece of advice when I went back to school, which I don’t always follow:stop Word when I write and write with pencil and paper because the blank pc screen is what intimidates me and being able to just hit backspace backspace and delete gives me that freedom to edit whenever I feel like it instead of erasing constantly, which is much more of a pain! And I did find that if I do write with pencil that I will finish the draft or at least a page before I go back and edit. But with my shoulder being hurt I’ve resorted to the computer where I get to backspace and delete, lol! I’m going to try really hard to avoid it since it’s so time-consuming when I just need to be writing and I can go back and feel things that in when I at least get a page written instead of a sentence or a paragraph.

Okay, now that I have written you a book,I have stuff to do to finish getting ready for tomorrow! Yay! Talk to you soon!! 🙂 <3

          12. Omg Stephanie…you do crack me up, especially your last paragraph…’now that i have written you a book’…Ha! Isn’t that what you were saying you had a hard time with? 😉

Poor Kayley, I didn’t realize she had GAD, too. Poor thing. My husband has a hard time understanding it too. I and both my boys have it. I think he gets it sometimes when I have an attack, and he realizes how scary it can be because he knows that’s not me, that I’m not normally like that.

Re: outlines…yes! you did say before that you cannot do outlines! I forgot! I did listen to a podcast once, it was how to write a novel in a weekend (imagine that!). So basically, they made a mind map with the general story, and all the parts of the story, e.g. beginning, climax, conclusion etc. then a mind map of what happens in each chapter, including as many details as possible. THEN, you record yourself telling the story. Transcribe it, pausing the recording to embellish it with detail, description, etc.

It seemed like an interesting way to get a story down, though I think I’d stutter and say ummm way too much! lol I don’t like the sound of my voice, either lol

The way you describe society seems to be happening everywhere, it’s sad, isn’t it? Like they don’t want to work for anything, expect things to be handed to them. I worry I am raising my kids to be the same, but so far, my oldest seems to not be afraid to work hard. He loves what he does, so that helps.

Funny what you say about writing on paper…it’s so true, its so much easier to get my thoughts down when handwriting them. If I’m struggling with something I have put the computer away and had much better luck, even if I’m only writing in point form. My hand does get sore though if I’m writing too long, so not good for your shoulder!

Anyhoo, I think I’m going to try to finish off a Unique Blogger before bed tonight. Wish me luck!

          13. LOL I guess I am pretty funny at times! I always know that I have a lot to say so I feel like I’m writing a huge book, and it is just so easy for me to talk to people I like, lol. Maybe I should take my comments and compile them into one large novel. Do you think anybody would want to read my crazy, off the wall comments?

Oh yeah, all 3 of my kids have anxiety disorder. Kayley and Connor both have generalized anxiety disorder while Chris has social anxiety disorder and deals with depression and has since 4th grade since he had a teacher tell him that he was stupid when he was just really shy. We didn’t know about it until the end of the school year when he developed an ulcer because he didn’t tell anyone what she was doing. I’m sure you have no doubt that I wanted to beat the you-know-what out of her. He is the only one of us to has had problems with depression, so that has been interesting since I’m just really familiar with anxiety, but I can say that he is doing so much better. I think my hubby doesn’t know what to think since we all have our issues and he is the only one who doesn’t although that is highly debatable LOL. I’m the only one who gets panic attacks or at least get text book panic attacks because I think that Kayley borderline gets them when she gets extremely terrified of something, which right now is being away from me. And that I think is the hardest thing for my husband to understand since the two boys weren’t like that at all. Even though they both have their anxiety issues, they didn’t cry or go into hysterics when they had to leave my side. But I keep telling him everybody with anxiety is different and we all have our triggers and that’s one of hers, but one day she will outgrow it since she can’t be attached to me when she’s going to college or getting married. Hopefully!

I wish I could write a novel in a weekend LOL! It took me 6 hrs earlier to write a small book review to post for Monday! I was so frustrated. I couldn’t think of a thing to say, but I also read the book the end of July! I can make a mind map better than a formal outline, which is funny. Maybe I will try that for book ideas and see what happens. I could do the transcribe thing if I did it straight to a Word doc. I finally bought the Dragon software Thursday after almost feeling as if I tore my rotator cuff, which I didn’t, after using my arm all day on the pc! I had to ice it all night and have been using ice and heat alternatively since. My physical therapist said I have to stop being a baby and get surgery, bluh. The software helps solve the shoulder issue for now though if I can get all the kinks figured out! And the typos!

It is so sad! I’m so heartbroken over everything going on in society. I’m not sure where things went wrong. If it was parents, educators, or what. It’s been 2 days of me explaining to about ⅓ of my students that no, I don’t take late work, no, I’m not rescheduling a midterm or final exam because it falls on your birthday, girl friend’s b-day, grandma’s b-day, dog’s b-day, etc, no, an 89.5 is not an A, yes, the assignment is late if you turn it in 5 minutes late, yes, I will take late work if you have technical issues but not for every assignment-it’s an online class, get working internet, computer, or a pc guy! Wow!

I’m sure you are doing a fantastic job Jo!!! Just what I know of you I know you’re not raising your kids to be entitled, spoiled jerks. It definitely helps to love what you do, but I think your son would work hard until he found that job he loved either way <3

Isn’t it funny how your mind connects with the paper so much better? I know there are a lot of authors who still write their entire novel on a pad with a pen or pencil! Tiring though like you said! Good excuse for brain breaks, which I am in a habit of never, ever taking when in school. Then its work, work, work mode until I’m completely done for weeks ahead. And run myself into the ground. I really want to do better this semester though and not drive myself. I need to keep myself in balance…

I hope you got your Unique Blogger Award finished without too much trouble! I haven’t made blog rounds since Wed, so I’m far behind! I did try to get on Twitter for a bit today, but I can’t remember what I read now LOL! I’ve got a few assignments to grade tomorrow very quickly and a couple to do for myself then I have a quick blog award to finish that I want to post tomorrow or Sunday at the latest, and I hope to catch up on the blogs after that! Talk to you soon!! 🙂
